"Watchmen"
These verses will serve as a foundation for "The Watchmen" to guide their actions and support the congregation and it's leaders.
Prayer and Fasting
Acts 13:2-3 - "As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them. And when they had fasted and prayed, and laid their hands on them, they sent them away."
Daniel 9:3 - "And I set my face unto the Lord God, to seek by prayer and supplications, with fasting, and sackcloth, and ashes."
Helping the Needy
Acts 4:34-35 - "Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold, and laid them down at the apostles' feet: and distribution was made unto every man according as he had need."
James 1:27 - "Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world."
Supporting the Weak
Acts 20:35 - "I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive."
1 Thessalonians 5:14 - "Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men."
Honoring the Elderly
1 Timothy 5:1-2 - "Rebuke not an elder, but intreat him as a father; and the younger men as brethren; The elder women as mothers; the younger as sisters, with all purity."
Leviticus 19:32 - "Thou shalt rise up before the hoary head, and honour the face of the old man, and fear thy God: I am the LORD."
